Professional Women of McLean County, Inc, a not-for-profit organization, was established to provide a forum specifically for businesswomen to connect, network and grow professionally. Part of our mission is to act as a benefactor for women in their academic and professional development pursuits.
To this end, PWMC is able to present from two scholarship funds annually to help women pursuing educational, professional or technical training, development and certification. The two scholarship funds are described below:
The Virginia Mosbacher Endowed Scholarship at the Illinois Prairie Foundation can be presented annually to women who have met the established criteria (i.e. leadership, clarity, and focus of career objectives) who attend American College of Technology, Bloomington-Normal School of Radiography, Heartland Community College or Lincoln College-Normal. When this scholarship is available for award, the application deadline is April 15th of the current year. The scholarship is awarded at our annual fundraiser, held in July of the same year.
The Professional Women of McLean County Women’s Professional Advancement Scholarship is fully funded through our annual fundraising campaigns. This scholarship is awarded annually to women pursuing specific professional development (i.e. professional certification, Leadership McLean County, continuing education, etc) or formal education at a local college or university (i.e., Heartland Community College, Lincoln College, Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University). Application’s will be available online by March 1st of each year and the application deadline is April 15th of the same year. This scholarship will be awarded at our annual fundraiser, held in July of the same year.
2018 Applications will be available on March 1, 2018 and will be due no later than April 15, 2018 .
