Building a Better Community

We’re not all cut out for politics – and many of us shy away when conversations start to head in that direction. Yet, one of the easiest areas to make a real impact in the world is right here in our own community.
Join Professional Women of McLean County as we present a panel discussion titled, “Building, Improving and Promoting McLean County.” Panelists will include notable guests from the McLean County Board, McLean County Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Council.
PWMC leaders will facilitate the discussion and we welcome our members and guests to come prepared with their own questions!
Plan to join us on Tuesday, November 14th
Doors open at 11:30 for registration/check-in and the program will start at 11:45.

Making Decisions Based on Facts, Not Fear

Your phone rings. It is a former boss extending you a great new opportunity. The position seems like a great fit, but you just recently were promoted at your current firm. What do you do?

Perhaps you can come up with an answer immediately, but, if you’re like a large percentage of your peers – big decisions (and even small ones) can often freeze you with indecision.

Dr. Shermian Woodhouse, Medical Director and Chief Radiation Oncologist of the Community Cancer Center will join us in October to discuss how fear stops us from making decisions, essentially pushing pause on our lives, even when the world is still moving around us.

Make plans to join us for lunch starting at 11:30 on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Our meeting will start promptly at 11:45.

Curiosity and the Power of Questions

The path of conscious living is paved with stepping-stones of wonder.” – Gay Hendricks, Conscious Living

What does it really mean to live one’s full potential? And why do so many of us yearn to do so, but feel, despite our best efforts, that something’s missing, that maybe we’ve settled, that maybe we’ve sold ourselves short? Why do we set goals and make commitments in service of our best selves, only to backslide again and again? And what can we do about it?

Join Master Life Coach, Kirstin Hotelling Zona, PhD, as she teaches us about the key components of living your full potential. During her presentation, Kirstin will discuss the nature of fear, how it gets in our way, and will teach us a simple and proven strategy for turning fear into fuel for creating your best, most fulfilling life.
